Abuja, Nigeria – The Federal Government has withdrawn housing allocations from beneficiaries of the National Housing Programme (NHP) who failed to complete full payments within the stipulated 90-day deadline, including an additional eight-week grace period.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, the government clarified that the revocation aligns with the terms stated in the Provisional Offer of Allocation Letter, particularly Paragraph 2, which mandates timely payment.
Strict Enforcement of Payment Deadlines
The Permanent Secretary, Shuaib Belgore, emphasized that the revocation only affects those who missed the February 28, 2025, payment deadline, reinforcing the Ministry’s commitment to transparency and accountability in housing allocation.
“Beneficiaries who fully paid before the deadline remain unaffected and should collect their Letters of Allocation to take possession of their homes,” the statement noted.
Public Disclosure of Defaulters
To ensure openness, the Ministry will publish the full list of revoked allocations on its official website and in select national newspapers in the first week of April 2025.
